A 49-year-old Waco woman died in a one-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Interstate 35 southbound near the Hewitt-Moody exit.
Gabriele Zarecor was driving a 2001 Ford pickup on the inside lane of the interstate and lost control of her vehicle at 12:24 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said. Zarecor’s truck veered right and struck a concrete barrier. The driver was ejected from the truck, the DPS report said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by McLennan County Justice of the Peace Kristi DeCluitt at 12:35 p.m.
No one else was injured.
A Hewitt police officer at the scene said text messaging or use of a cell phone was possibly a factor in the accident, but this information was not included in the DPS report.
Zarecor was not wearing her seat belt, the DPS spokeswoman said.

I want to Bless Brandon, Ron, and the rest of the family. Gabby was a wonderful person and she helped me through the difficult time after the death of my son, and I will always be indebted to her for that. I love you abby, keep an eye on that boy of mine for me. I'll do the same for you here.
Love,

Gabby and I went to school together and were friends for many years both in Junior High and High School. I had not seen her since we graduated in 1977, and yet I feel a great loss even today. I was just informed of the tragedy or I would have driven down for the service. I can see by all the comments she was loved by many and will be misssed by all. Godspeed Gabby.

Gabby was one of my dear friends/sister, she was always there for me in good times and bad. I know that life goes on but my heart is breaking and I just don't know what I will do without her in my life. At work these past few days since her accident have been so somber and quiet though I can still hear her laughter, and her advice to me when I needed it. We made so many plans and dreams of things we wanted to do together. No one will ever take her place in my life. I will never forget her as she will always be in my heart.... I Love you Gabby!

WOW! How ignorant can some people be? No one really knows what was going on when this tragic accident happened but Gabby herself. I know that my family and I will miss her dearly. She could always make any bad day better by making you realize that it could always be worse. My thoughts and prayers are with Ron, Brandon and all of her family. She had always talked so highly of them. She even gave me some advice on what to do with my son when he gets here in April. I will forever remember the last time I saw her. We will miss you so very much.

Judy,
Sorry I didn't see the accident, only heard the talk on the police scanner back and forth between the officers and dispatch. I heard the Lorena police officer who stopped the vehicle at the 320 exit. It had been reported to them as the vehicle that caused the accident. The DPS trooper went to the accident scene and then called for the Lorena officer to bring that subject to the accident scene. After that, I didn't hear much but the truckers were complaining about this one vehicle had been speeding and cutting in and out of traffic. Must have been bad to have the truckers calling the police. Sorry for your loss.

I met Gabby and Ron when she use to work at Albertson's with my brother, she was a very caring person. She always had a smile on her face and always joking. Her husband Ron is a good person also. My prayers will be with your family.
