The Waco-McLennan County Library will conduct public meetings to receive residents’ suggestions for the R.B. Hoover Library project at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7 p.m. Wednesday at the R.B. Hoover Library, 1428 Wooded Acres Drive.
The branch will be relocating to the former Dunlap’s department store building.

Documentary screening
Waco Friends of Peace will present the documentary The End of America: Legacy of the Bush Years at 6 p.m. Thursday at Poppa Rollo’s Pizza, 703 N. Valley Mills Drive.
The 2008 film will examine the parallels between the United States’ current situation and the rise of dictators and fascism in once-free societies. The event will include a free pizza buffet.

Senior singers sought
The Baylor Singing Seniors will begin their spring semester rehearsals at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Woodway, 101 Ritchie Road.
Senior citizens who enjoy singing are welcome to attend a rehearsal or to join the choir. Rehearsals are 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

Waco Habitat for Humanity will have an informational meeting at 3 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Habitat office, 220 N. 11th St. Habitat makes home ownership possible for low-income residents.

Midway choir 5K run
Sponsorship and registration forms are available for the 2009 Midway High School Choir 5K Rhythm Run scheduled for Jan. 31 at Woodway Park, 2099 Estate Drive in Woodway.

Chi Omega speaker
The Chi Omega Alumnae will present Cordia Barton Harrington as guest speaker at its annual scholarship luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 29 at Ridgewood Country Club, 7301 Fish Pond Road.
Harrington is the founder and CEO of the Tennessee Bun Co. Cost is $35 per person or $280 for a table of eight. RSVP is required by Jan. 22.
