Firefighters from at least five towns helped put out a massive fire at a Gatesville auction company Monday night.
About 7 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a storage barn behind the Coryell County Commission Co. , Gatesville fire Chief Billy Vaden said.
The three-sided barn contained nearly 5,000 bales of hay, he said.
Firefighters from Gatesville, Turnersville, Oglesby and Jonesboro, among other cities, worked for more than seven hours to put the fire out, moving 1,200 pounds of hay out of the shed by hand, Vaden said.
