The condition of the 72-year-old Fairfield woman injured in a Saturday double-fatality head-on collision near Hubbard has worsened from serious to critical, a Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center spokesman said.
Mary Claridge suffered broken bones and internal injuries when the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer she was driving on State Highway 171 collided with a 2008 Ford F-150, Texas DPS officials said.
The impact killed Claridge’s passengers, 49-year-old Gayla Johnson, a Freestone County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher from Fairfield, and 47-year-old Donna Wilson, a housewife from Groesbeck, a DPS spokesman said.
The Ford’s driver, 54-year-old Robin Solomon, of Grandview, was driving north on 171, tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with the Trailblazer, the spokesman said.
Solomon was listed in good condition at Hillcrest, the DPS spokesman said.
