Search a large number of common health inspections conducted each week by the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District ( read more) by establishment name, address, city, inspection date or inspection type. All search fields are optional, so selecting fewer options will return more results. (Just clicking "search" without changing any options will return all records in the database.)
If you're having trouble getting results, just type part of the search word. For example, search "Diamond" instead of "Diamondbacks" or search "6th" instead of "North 6th Street."
About health inspections
The best possible score on a health inspection is 0, with 100 as the worst score. Violations relating to food preparation, safety and handling receive 3, 4 or 5 demerits per violation, depending on severity. Generally, inspection scores above the range of 20-30 demerits will trigger an automatic reinspection and/or more stringent enforcement.
However, a score of 0 does not mean "zero violations". Inspectors may note on the report some non-food safety related violations, which carry no demerits, such as general cleanliness of the establishment. These violations may trigger a follow-up inspection depending on their severity, although these factors are not reflected in the official inspection score.
The information in this database, which is obtained from the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District's Web site, is not comprehensive and does not include all types of inspections or all types of food service facilities. The information here represents a large portion of all health inspections, which includes common food sale locations including restaurants, convenience stores and schools.
