I celebrate Thanksgiving every day. I must.
I wake up in America a free man. I thank God each and every day that I was born here.
I am so very thankful that America's Founding Fathers had the wisdom and intestinal fortitude to write down self-evident truths and God-given rights in case anyone conveniently pretended to forget why we came to this land. We came to escape slave drivers, dictators, kings and tyrants.
* I give thanks that my parents were strong, loving, nurturing, hard-working disciplinarians. They taught me to be the best that I can be and to always do the right thing.

* I thank God for the Labrador retrievers that shiver in the duckblind with me, dashing out into the blowing snow and into the ice-cold water to fetch the fowl I shoot.
* I give thanks for my good neighbors and fellow Americans, who are so kind, friendly, giving, hospitable, generous and fun to hang around with.
Thanksgiving should be celebrated every day by every American, because when you honestly look around this great land, we've got it made if we use our heads.
Godbless, America. Give thanks.
