Why does America surrender its children to so many poisons?

It's so simple it's stupid, as the saying goes.
But I am compelled to shoot off a few rounds of love grenades at my fellow Americans here, in a mad effort to convince my friends once and for all that the emperor has no clothes, the experiment with drugs is over, and Victoria has no secrets.

It is time to feel good, right here, right now, ASAP. No increased expenses are involved and nothing to do that actually qualifies as sacrifice.
In fact, this simple quality-of-life red alert actually will save huge amounts of money while you upgrade your overall health, feel more alive, live longer and happier and be more productive.
Men and women are dying in the war on terror so that we can have an American Dream. Now that qualifies as real sacrifice.
Eating smarter, living more responsibly and taking better care of one's self are not sacrifices, thank you. They're duties.
At the tender age of 59, I am having the time of my life. And the recipe for such a joyous fun time is, as they say, so simple it's stupid.
We've all heard the public service announcements about the epidemic of asthma, where the radio voice clearly states how something as innocuous as a shower curtain or stuffed toy animal can set off a serious breathing complication in children.
Unfortunately, and quite amazingly, I don't think anybody is paying attention or truly giving a good damn about it.
Who cares if the children wheeze and gag and run out of breath and show signs of fatigue at 7? Well, I do.
And here's why they're gagging: You're poisoning them to death in the name of selfish convenience.
And the horror of childhood cancers also is a direct result of this brain-dead inundation of chemicals and poisons we are showering our children with.
Why no one is raising hell or doing anything about it in a visible way is beyond bizzarro.
I suppose if others took as many young children dying of leukemia and various diseases on as many hunting and fishing trips as I have, maybe the pain and suffering of these innocents would drive more action.
When the precious new baby is brought home from the hospital and starts to cry, the standard operating procedure is to shove a petroleum-based, toxic pacifier in his or her mouth. This is insane.
Then those adorable animal-print PJs look so cute. But horrifically they are impregnated with more toxic chemicals in the form of fire retardants, pesticides and God-only-knows what defoliant death goo.
And the little mattress and kiddy bedding, curtains, carpet, shampoos, soaps, cleaning agents, air fresheners, fabric softeners, detergents, bug sprays, sunscreens — a standard daily procedure of proven deadly chemical cocktails from hell — are unleashed into the child's world.
The fact that the young immune system hasn't even kicked in yet makes these children totally susceptible to this avalanche of poisons.
Take the extra time to read labels, and don't just reduce the chemical warfare against our children. End it. End it now.
The kids want to breathe and live better lives. We all could do so overnight with the smallest of effort. A healthier America is a stronger America.
