Vanguard Merit students

Vanguard College Preparatory School senior Kobe Thomas (left) was named a National Merit Hispanic Scholar and senior Isaac Fluhr-Chapman is a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Vanguard College Preparatory School had two seniors recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. Isaac Fluhr-Chapman has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar and Kobe Thomas has been honored as a National Merit Hispanic Scholar.

Isaac is the son of Kathleen Fluhr and Alex Champman, both of Waco. He is captain of the FirstTech Robotics team and plays football and basketball.

He is a member of the Chemistry, Spanish and Audio-Visual clubs, took part in ID Tech Programming summer camps, and volunteers in several school, community and church actvities.

Kobe is the son of Amy and Will Thomas, of Robinson. He is involved in the National Honor Society and is quarterback on the Vanguard football team as well as plays basketball and baseball and runs track.

He is a Peer Program leader, has won the Bausch+Lomb Honorary Science Award, and volunteers in a variety of school, community and church actvities.
