Texas Vintage Baseball League to host free game, 19th century-style, on April 13

Historic Waco Foundation’s vintage baseball game

As part of its continuing exhibition, “Waco at Bat: The History of Baseball in Waco,” Historic Waco Foundation presents a Texas vintage baseball game at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marvin Norcross Stadium, 3700 University Parks Drive.

Re-enactors in period uniforms will play under the circa 1860 rules of baseball. Families are welcome to attend the free event.

“Waco at Bat: The History of Baseball in Waco” will continue on display at the Fort House Museum, South Fourth Street at Webster Avenue, through July.

Visiting hours are Saturday and Sunday, 2-5 p.m. Special tours are welcomed and can be arranged by calling 753-5166.
