The Reicher Catholic High School robotics team has continued to dominate in competitions under the leadership of Reicher engineering and robotics instructor Brian Atteberry.
The team recently received special recognition for its excellence in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education from state Rep. Charles “Doc” Anderson, who presented the Reicher robotics team with a resolution recognizing its accomplishments and achievements.
The Reicher team has been competing in the First Tech Challenge (FTC-1), where participants are challenged to design, build, program and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge .
Participants have the opportunity to develop STEM skills and acquire engineering principles while collaborating and building leadership skills.
Reicher robotics is undefeated in its three First Tech Challenge competitions. At a Jan. 20 contest, Reicher earned another first-place victory, received the Motivate and Inspire Award, was crowned Tournament Alliance Champions, and earned a trip to compete at the state competition in the Waco Convention Center on May 12.
