Dr. Mallory SoRelle, an assistant professor at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, received the American Political Science Association’s 2017 Schattschneider Award for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of American government.
She also received the 2017 Esman Prize for outstanding dissertation scholarship in government from Cornell University for “Democracy Declined: The Failed Politics of Consumer Credit.”
The daughter of Jim and Cindy SoRelle, of Waco, she is a graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School and Vanguard College Preparatory School.
Elliott D. SoRelle, the son of Jim and Cindy SoRelle of Waco, received his Ph.D. in biophysics at Stanford University.
In December he completed a medical study of new approaches to high-resolution in vivo imaging and diagnostics for cancer and disease detection at the cellular level.
He is a graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal School, Vanguard College Preparatory School and Rice University.
Five Hill College vocational nursing program students were honored with a pinning ceremony on Dec. 9 in the Vara Martin Daniel Performing Arts Center at the Hill County campus in Hillsboro.
The graduates are Jesse Joe Castillo, of Hillsboro; Karen Charrez, of Hillsboro; Misty Couch, of Hubbard; Siphoso Ndebele, of Keene; and Julian Uriah Raborn, of Penelope.
