The Texas Country Gentlemen elected its new board of directors for 2018 recently.

Officers are Dick Belanger, president; Gary Morton, past president; Larry Stewart, secretary; Nathan Knightes, treasurer; Mike Reid, music director; Terry Ermoian, marketing and advertising; Charles Hargrave, member at large; and Art Reinking, member at large.

The Texas Country Gentlemen is a four-part men’s barbershop a cappella chorus that meets Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Cultural Activity Center in Temple.

In the military

U.S. Air Force Airman Jeffrey S. Back, a 2012 graduate of Midway High School, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The airman completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the son of Jeffrey Back and Judy York, both of Hewitt.
