Olan Blount, a 2012 graduate of Waco High School, graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering.
He was a member of the school’s Formula SAE program that built and designed race cars. Olan doubled up on his classes for the last two years and did his senior design thesis in aerospace engineering during the summer.
He had a summer internship with Forum Energy Technology and has accepted a position with the international business at its Fort Worth facility.
He is the son of Don and Kyle Blount.
Nancy Bowman, of Lorena, and Theresa Arias, of Hillsboro, were recently initiated into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Brandon Chappell, of Waco, was recently initiated into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi at Angelo State University in San Angelo.
In the military
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Clayton Love Jr., a 2017 graduate of China Spring High School, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Love is the son of Lori Romero and Clayton Love, of Waco, and the stepson of Richard Romero, of Waco.
