McGregor High School senior Bertha Palma has been named a National Hispanic Scholar.

She scored in the top 2.5 percent on the PSAT/NMSQT among all Hispanic and Latino test-takers in her region. As a result, she was invited to participate in the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

To be eligible to apply, Bertha had to achieve the minimum required PSAT/NMSQT selection index score in her region and have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 by the middle of her junior year.
