The public is invited to attend a job and career fair from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Waco Multipurpose Center, 1020 Elm Ave.
It is being hosted by the Central Texas African American Chamber of Commerce, and sponsors include Pepsi, Dunkin’ Donuts and Walmart, according to a press release from the chamber.
Chamber Executive Director Laveda Brown said refreshments will be served, and job-seekers attending should bring résumés.
A total of 17 employers have registered to have booths at the fair, including Baylor University, the Waco Police Department, Jack of All Trades temporary service, Waco Independent School District and Extraco Banks.
A representative will be there from a call center set to open in Lacy Lakeview that has plans to hire as many as 700 people, Brown said.
