The history of “El Grito de Dolores” will be told, and members of the World Champion Lake Air Little League softball team will be honored.

Walk for the Homeless

Mission Waco’s annual Walk for the Homeless will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, starting at the Meyer Center, 1226 Washington Ave. The 1.2-mile education and prayer walk will stop for readings and talks at locations along the way where the poor and homeless receive services.

There is no cost or reservation required. Walkers are encouraged to bring and donate hygiene items for people in need.

The Central Texas Genealogical Society and West Waco Genealogy Center will have a session on using FamilySearch.org apps starting at noon Monday in the West Waco Library meeting room, 5301 Bosque Blvd.

David Oualaalou, a veteran, global affairs analyst and educator, will present a program on the new geopolitical outlook in Iran and the Persian Gulf region during the Waco Rotary Club’s meeting at noon Monday at the Waco Lion’s Den, 1716 N. 42nd Street.
