Doctorate in Educational Leadership

The University Center at McLennan Community College, in partnership with Tarleton State University, will present an information session on the Tarleton Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) degree program available in Waco. The information session will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in MCC’s Michaelis Academic Center, Room 237.

The program is designed for working education professionals interested in earning a doctorate for leadership positions in prekindergarten through 12th grade or higher education settings. Flexible evening and weekend classes are held in Waco.

St. Martin of Tours picnic

St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 301 St. Martin’s Church Road in West, will have its annual picnic from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The event will include a fried chicken and sausage dinner for $10 per plate, a live auction, bingo, games for children, entertainment and more.

Aging workshops

The Area Agency on Aging is offering three workshops in October: a chronic disease workshop for all conditions, a diabetes workshop and a pain workshop.

Each workshop meets once a week for six weeks. Enrollment does not require a doctor’s order or replace current treatments. Significant others are also encouraged to attend. For more information, call 292-1855.

The Waco Federation of Women’s Clubs will have an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at its clubhouse, 2900 Bosque Blvd.
