The Waco-McLennan County Office of Emergency Management invites the public to attend a McLennan County Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. in the Bosque Theater at the Waco Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave.
The purpose of Tuesday’s meeting is to review and share with the public our county Hazard Mitigation Action Plan and Hazardous Material Annex information. The HMAP planning process is designed to reduce the loss of life and property during times of hazardous events.
The public is invited to make comments or suggestions. City, county and emergency management officials will be on hand to answer any questions. All comments received from the public will be documented and considered for inclusion in the HMAP.

The Mayborn Museum hosts Halloween in Design Den on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
In the front area, all ages are invited to make music to add to our Scary Symphony using Makey Makey. In the Design Den Studio, visitors ages 8 and up (with a parent or guardian signature) can create costume accessories, including paper masks, LED light-up jewelry, hair accessories, and more. Admission to the museum includes Halloween in Design Den activities.
Baylor University students and museum members receive free admission.
