Wiener Dog Races return to the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The entry fee is $20 per dachshund. All dogs must have a current DHLP or 7-way vaccination and a current rabies vaccination. Two people per dog must be available for the races, and dogs must be on a leash to enter the fairgrounds.

The entry fee comes with two general admission tickets to the fair for the two dog handlers. The Wiener Dog Races will take place in the Extraco Banks Kids Zone Arena.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels Waco will have its annual Sweet Sounds fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business at Baylor University, 1621 S. Third St.

Heart of Texas Square and Round Dance Association will host the President’s Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers Dance on Friday and Saturday at Allenmande Hall, 105 Westlake, in Speegleville.

The event takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. each night.

Pruitt Symposium

Baylor University hosts its annual Pruitt Symposium beginning Thursday at the Truett Theological Seminary and the Armstrong Browning Library. Registration is $60 and includes meals. The sessions are free without meals.

The symposium brings the perspectives of the Christian intellectual tradition on contemporary issues of common concern.

Baylor’s Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise presents “Confessions of an Entrepreneur with Summer Shine of Luna Juice” Thursday beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The event features conversation with local entrepreneurs who have taken non-traditional roads to achieve success. It will take place at the Hankamer School of Business, 1621 South Third St.

A car and bike show fundraiser is planned for Oct. 14 at the Mount Calm City Park for Russell Sommer.
