A Halloween in Hillsboro event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday.
Local merchants and organizations will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters from 6 to 8 on East Franklin Street downtown. All Halloween events, including a Haunted House at the Opera House on Elm Street, will raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Dia de los Muertos
The Waco Hispanic Museum will celebrate Dia de los Muertos from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at 2815 Speight Ave.

Church history lecture
Bill Leonard, a Baptist studies and church history professor, will give a lecture titled “A Theology for Racism: Southern Fundamentalists and the Civil Rights Movement” at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Baylor University’s Miller Chapel, Tidwell Bible Building, 600 Speight Ave.
Baylor University’s School of Music will present its Wind Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave.
J. Eric Wilson, director of bands, will lead the ensemble of winds, brass and percussion instruments. This event is free and open to the public.
Pack of Hope
Casa de Castillo, 4820 Sanger Ave., will host a Pack of Hope fundraiser Tuesday.
The restaurant will donate 25 percent of all sales between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. to the nonprofit organization, whose sole mission is to erase child hunger in McLennan County by providing school districts and their eligible students with backpacks filled with food to be used on weekends.
