The Salvation Army Thrift Store is in need of men’s clothing. Donated clothing is sold and helps support services for the homeless and people in poverty. Baylor grad speaks

The Parents Against Crime Coalition will host medical researcher, businesswoman, and Baylor University graduate Zoi Maroudas-Tziolas for her presentation titled “Essential Nutrition from Infancy through Adulthood,” from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Baylor Club’s President’s Suite. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

Arbor Day observance

Keep Waco Beautiful invites the public to mark the 139th observance of Arbor Day during its event at 10 a.m. Friday at G.W. Carver Middle School, 1601 JJ Flewellen Road.

The ceremony will include planting a tree, reading of a proclamation and presentation of a Tree City USA flag to the school.

Pro-Life Waco

“Hour #396,” the closing hour of the 2017 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil, from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, will feature a re-enactment of the Jericho March on the sidewalks of the Planned Parenthood Mary Ruth Duncan Women’s Health Center, 1121 Ross Ave. The march around Planned Parenthood will also feature blowing of a shofar.

Chemistry Magic Show

Mayborn Museum staff and Baylor University professors and students will bring the art of science to life through a variety of activities and demonstrations from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

A Chemistry Magic Show will follow at 3 p.m. in the museum’s Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village. Regular admission to the museum includes the activities.
