The Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute will host a patriotic pop-up event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 300 S. Fifth St.

Visitors can stop by the courtyard to create patriotic artwork or write a note of appreciation to veterans. Works can then be donated to the local Department of Veterans Affairs.

The event is free. Museum admission is free for visitors with a military ID. For more information, call 757-1024.

Zoo Stampede

The H-E-B Cameron Park Zoo Stampede will be held Saturday beginning with a 1K run at 8 a.m. 5K and 10K events begin at 8:30.

Storytelling event

Tellabration, celebrating the ageless art of storytelling, will be hosted by the Heart of Texas Storytelling Guild from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Austin Avenue Methodist Church, 1300 Austin Ave.

The program will feature local author, pastor and storyteller Kyndall Rothaus. An accompanying meal costs $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 4-11.

The Baylor Orators Toastmasters club meets at noon Friday in Suite 200 of Clifton Robinson Tower, 700 S. University Parks Drive.
