Community leader Donell Teaff and Tamiko Jones, newly elected executive director of Texas Woman’s Missionary Union will be featured speakers at the 2017 Women’s World Day of Prayer observance. Fruitcake sale correction

United Methodist Men are selling Collin Street Bakery fruitcakes and pecans at the corner of Lake Air and Cobbs drives, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays until Dec. 23.

West Christmas exhibit

An exhibit of old toys, dolls and Christmas trees will be on display at the History of West Museum, 112 E. Oak St., during December.

Admission is free. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The exhibit runs from Dec. 1 through Dec. 30.

Holiday Classic golf

The Waco Junior Golf Association will have its annual Holiday Classic at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 1 at Ridgewood Country Club, 7301 Fish Pond Road.

The tour is open to any junior golfer, age 18 and younger, who is a member of the association. Annual dues for membership are $25.

Age groups for boys and girls are 15-18, 13-14, 11-12, and 10 and younger.

Tournament entry is $20 in advance or $25 the day of the tournament.

Murder mystery

Brazos Theatre will present a murder mystery dinner and dance Dec. 31 at the Hilton Hotel in Waco.

Cost is $125 and includes a three-course meal, live music to ring in the New Year and a champagne toast at midnight.

The murder mystery takes place in 1955.
