The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization and Waco Transit System Inc. are hosting an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bellmead Civic Center, 3900 Parrish St.
The organizations are conducting a study to evaluate the potential for rapid transit in the city of Waco. The public is invited to provide input in the planning process to design a transit system that best serves the community.
Chronic disease class
The Area Agency on Aging is hosting a chronic disease self-management program every Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Falls Community Hospital conference room, 322 Coleman St. in Marlin.
Participants must register by calling 292-1855. There will be six classes, starting Thursday and running through Jan. 25.
The Baylor Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise will have a “Confessions of an Entrepreneur,” event with Lance and Mindy Yager of Select Jiu-Jitsu, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

West museum exhibit
An exhibit of old toys, dolls and Christmas trees will be on display at the History of West Museum, 112 E. Oak St., during December.
Admission is free. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The exhibit runs from Friday through Dec. 30.

Baylor Theatre will have a CaBEARet 2017 event from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave.
Proceeds benefit the Leta Horan and Jerry MacLauachlin Endowed Scholarship for Musical Theatre.
Suggested donations are $10 for students and $20 for adults. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m.
