The Salvation Army is requesting donations of pies to be served with its Thanksgiving Day meal on Thursday.
The pies can be dropped off at the Salvation Army, 300 Webster Ave., anytime before Thursday.

Waco Friends of Peace/Climate will screen the documentary “The Broken Moon: Climate and the Himalayas,” at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Poppa Rollo’s Pizza in Waco.
The event is free and includes pizza and salad buffet.
Bus to La Vega game
The La Vega High School football team will play King High School in an area playoff game on Friday at 2 p.m. at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio. A bus has been chartered for fans, which will depart at 9:30 a.m. from the athletics field house.
Fare cost is $35 per person (game ticket is not included) and light refreshments will be served.

Buddy Edwards, executive director, and Tammy Stevens, director of client services, present a program on Caritas’ 50th anniversary at the weekly meeting of Waco Rotary Club on Monday.

Women’s Day of Prayer
Community leader Donell Teaff and newly-elected executive director of Texas Woman’s Missionary Union Tamiko Jones will be the featured speakers at the 2017 Women’s World Day of Prayer observance. The brunch will be held in the Great Hall at Truett Seminary on the Baylor campus at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28, with the program at 10 a.m.
