As part of its participation in America Recycles Day, the city of Waco will no longer charge a $4 monthly fee for residents with a second blue recycling cart. The fee remains in place for a second gray trash cart and a second green yard waste cart.
To get a second blue cart or to learn more about recycling, call 299-2612 or go to waco-texas.com. Waco residents can also go to 501 Schroeder Drive and pick a cart up. In addition, anyone can use the Cobbs Drive Convenience Center for recycling most household items.
Men’s clothing needed
The Salvation Army Thrift Store is in need of men’s clothing. Donated clothing is sold and supports services to help the homeless and people in poverty find a way back to financial stability through the teaching of life skills, employment guidance, budgeting and counseling to resolve underlying causes of poverty and guide them toward long-term independence and stability.
Clothing should be clean and free of tears or stains. Drop items off at the Salvation Army store, 4721 W. Waco Drive, or call 756-7271 to schedule an at-home pick up in McLennan County.
Waco Children’s Theatre
Waco Children’s Theatre will present “It’s a Wonderful Life,” a play adapted by James W. Rodgers, Dec. 8, 9 and10 at the Lee Lockwood Library, 2801 W. Waco Drive.
Performance times are 7 p.m. Dec. 8, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 9, and 2 p.m. Dec. 10. Admission for all shows is $5.

West Museum display
During the Christmas season, an exhibit of old toys, beautiful dolls and unique Christmas trees is on display at the History of West Museum, 112 E. Oak St. in West.
Admission is free. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The exhibit runs through Dec. 30.
