Texas State Technical College will have a Registration Rally for the spring semester from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the Student Services Center on Campus Drive.
Visitors can take campus tours and talk to faculty members about the more than 40 technical programs offered at TSTC, including Aircraft Airframe Technician, Avionics, Cloud and Data Center Management, Radiation Protection Technology and Web Design and Development.
People interested in enrolling should bring a copy of their driver’s license, high school transcript or GED, any college transcripts, proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination, housing application and Texas Success Initiative scores, if relevant.
La Vega parent meeting
La Vega ISD will present its November Parent University meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bellmead Civic Center, 3900 Parrish St.
It is open to parents and community members. Snacks and childcare are provided for ages 4 and up.
A meal will be served from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Presentations about the myON literacy program and children’s use of social media will be given.

Waco transit input meeting
The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization and Waco Transit System are asking for public input on their Waco Rapid Transit Corridor study alternatives and draft evaluation results.
The goal is to provide faster transit service to the places residents, students and visitors want to go.
An open forum for interested stakeholders will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Waco Transit Administrative Building, 301 S. Eighth St., followed by an open house for public feedback from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dewey Community Center, 925 N. Ninth St.
Free 2nd recycling cart
As part of its participation in America Recycles Day, the city of Waco will no longer charge a $4 monthly fee for residents with a second blue recycling cart. The fee remains in place for a second gray trash cart and a second green yard waste cart.
To get a second blue cart or to learn more about recycling, call 299-2612 or go to waco-texas.com. Waco residents can also go to 501 Schroeder Drive and pick a cart up. In addition, anyone can use the Cobbs Drive Convenience Center for recycling most household items.
