The City of Waco Parks and Recreation Department and Family of Faith Worship Center are seeking entries for this year’s Waco Wonderland Parade.
Parade application forms are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Local organizations, businesses and community members are invited to participate in the parade. Registration is free.
This year’s parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. The parade will travel down Austin Avenue from 11th Street to Third Street.
Bus to La Vega game
The La Vega High School football team plays Canyon Lake Friday night at Kelly Reeves Stadium in Round Rock. A bus has been chartered for fans. Cost is $20. The bus departs from the high school at 4:45 p.m.

The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization and Waco Transit System, Inc., are hosting an open house Thursday at the Bellmead Civic Center, 3900 Parrish St., from 6-8 p.m.
The MPO and WTS are conducting a study to evaluate the potential for rapid transit in the city of Waco. The goal is to provide faster transit service to the places that citizens, students, and visitors want to go.
Christmas on the Brazos
Historic Waco Foundation will hold its annual Christmas on the Brazos from Friday through Dec. 10.
Each of the Foundation’s Historic House Museums will be lavishly decorated for Christmas and will feature special entertainment. Additionally, each house will collect donations for specific charities, including the Waco Humane Society, Storybook Christmas, Caritas and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Chronic disease class
The Area Agency on Aging is hosting a chronic disease self-management program every Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Falls Community Hospital conference room., 322 Coleman St. in Marlin. Those attending must pre-register by calling 292-1855. There are six classes, beginning Thursday and running through Jan. 25.
