TxDOT will switch FM 1637 traffic onto new pavement, from Flat Rock Road to FM 2490 starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Traffic is already running on new pavement from the beginning of the project to Flat Rock Road. The switch will allow work to continue on the 4.3-mile project, widening the two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway with raised median, from FM 3051 (Steinbeck Bend Drive) to FM 2490 (Wortham Bend Road).
The $27.8 million project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2018, weather permitting. TxDOT cautions motorists to be alert for construction personnel and equipment in the work areas.
