The Marek No. 104 Daughters of the Nile will have its second annual Central Texas Bunco Tournament, “Let the Good Times Roll for the Children,” Saturday at the Lee Lockwood Library, 2801 W. Waco Drive. Doors open at noon, and the dice roll at 2 p.m.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded. There will be a silent auction, raffle items and a 50-50 pot.
Registration is $35 and includes a light lunch and two raffle tickets. Proceeds from the event will benefit Daughters of the Nile, whose only benefactors are children in Shriners Hospitals.

Texas Independence Day
Historic Waco Foundation will have a Texas Independence Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of East Terrace House, 100 Mill St.
Cost is $10 per family. No credit cards will be accepted. The event will feature live music, food trucks, games, crafts and stories of Waco and Texas independence.

McLennan Community College will be closed March 5-10 for spring break. Saturday classes will be held March 3, and classes will resume March 12.
Tarleton State University and Texas Tech University administrative offices will be open for normal business hours. Tarleton office hours are 8 to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and Texas Tech office hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Elm Mott fundraiser
Elm Mott Fire Rescue is having its annual fundraiser and live auction from 4 to 9 p.m. April 14 at Geneva Hall, 740 Connally Drive. The fundraiser includes a brisket dinner for $10, live music by The Armadillo Mudflaps and a car show.
