The second semester of the Neighbors International Program starts at 9 a.m. Thursday at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, 1300 Columbus Ave.

In addition to five levels of English as a second language classes, students may select citizenship, computer, choral music, Spanish, painting, driver’s manual, scrapbooking, fabric arts or sewing. An International Bible Study meets every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. with 50 to 60 people regularly in attendance.

Rangers Winter Caravan

The Texas Rangers Winter Caravan will stop at Jim Turner Chevrolet in McGregor from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Players including Matt Bush, Shawn Tolleson, and new signee Chris Martin will be present to sign autographs and meet with fans. Rangers broadcaster Tom Grieve will also be in attendance, along with other special guests.

Diabetes management

The Area Agency on Aging will start a six-week workshop on Type 2 diabetes management Wednesday at South Waco Library, 2737 S. 18th St. The course is free and meets from 2 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 292-1857.

MLK wreath-laying

A wreath-laying ceremony to start commemoration of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday will take place at noon Friday at MLK Memorial Park, 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Young Marines registration

The Central Texas Young Marines will hold registration for new recruits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and again at the same time Jan. 20 and Jan 27 at the Bruceville–Eddy United Methodist Church, 404 W. Third St.
