Lifelong Learning, a member of the Baylor Alumni Network, will have a coffee and a speaker event at 10 a.m. Friday in the Stone Room of Baylor University’s Ferrell Center, 1900 S. University Parks Drive.

Todd Patulski, assistant athletic director at Baylor, will speak about Baylor athletics current events, including the latest about the new football stadium.

The free program is open to the public. Guests should enter the recessed door to the left of the ticket office door on the east side of the Ferrell Center.

The city of Waco Planning Department and Live Well Waco will conduct a public input meeting about the health-related issues and needs of the East Waco community from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the City of Waco Multipurpose Center, 1020 Elm Ave.

Waco Outing Club

Waco Outing Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 5801 Bishop Drive.

Woody and Sarah Brewton will present a digital presentation of their trip to Australia, which included a scuba dive off the Great Barrier Reef.

Self-defense seminar

A free self-defense seminar for amputees and mobility-challenged people will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Shin’s Martial Arts, 3000 Bellmead Drive.

The seminar will be taught by Steve Crider with the Cane and ABLE Waco-area amputee support group.

Crider, who has a prosthetic right leg, has been trained in movements and principles found in Wing Chun kung fu.
