City of Waco offices will be closed on Monday in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Solid waste offices will also be closed. The landfill will be closed to the general public, but will accept franchise haulers until 4:30 p.m. Monday’s trash routes will be collected Wednesday.
All Waco-McLennan County Library branches will be closed for the holiday, but the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, Waco Mammoth National Monument and Cameron Park Zoo will be open for regular business hours.
City buses will run as usual.
MLK peace march
The 22nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March and Observance is 9 a.m. until noon Monday at Indian Spring Park.
Free lunch and entertainment will be provided at Bledsoe-Miller Community Center and essay poster contest winners will be announced. Attendees who bring canned food donations will be provided free raffle tickets for prize drawings.
The event is sponsored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Delta Upsilon Zeta Chapter and the Gamma Omicron Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. For more information, call 548-1040.

McLennan Community College will be closed Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

Black Gospel Music presentation
Baylor professor Robert Darden will share a portion of his Black Gospel Music Restoration Project at Church Under the Bridge at 11 a.m. Sunday as part of the worship service, civil rights history and racial reconciliation dialogue on the eve of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The church meets under Interstate 35 at the South Fourth Street underpass. Everyone is welcome.
