Waco Community Development will accept applications between March 5 and April 6 for its roof-repair program. The program is free to low-income families that live in the city of Waco and is partially paid for with a city grant.

The organization has enough money for 10 roofs in this round of repairs. Homes will be evaluated in April.

League of Women Voters meeting

The League of Women Voters of the Waco Area will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the South Waco Library Meeting Room, 2737 S. 18th St. The meeting is open to the public.

Bremond library benefit

A baked potato luncheon to raise money for the Bremond Public Library will be held Sunday at the Bremond ISD cafeteria. Lunch costs $10 and will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Christian Writers

Writer and director Chris Hansen will speak at a Christian Writers Workshop meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at First Baptist Woodway, 13000 Woodway Drive.

Hansen is Chair of the Film and Digital Media Department at Baylor University and has four feature films to his credit. His topic Wednesday night will be an overview of screenwriting and filmmaking.

The workshop is free and open to the public.

Storytelling Guild

The Heart of Texas Storytelling Guild will meet at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 24 at the South Waco Library, 2737 S. 18th St.

Anyone interested in joining are invited to attend. Youth storytelling takes place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Call 717-1763 for more information.
