Brazos Theatre will present a murder mystery dinner and dance Sunday at the Hilton Hotel in Waco.
Cost is $125 and includes a three-course meal, live music to ring in the New Year and a champagne toast at midnight.

The Waco Junior Golf Association will have its annual Holiday Classic at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 1 at Ridgewood Country Club, 7301 Fish Pond Road.
The tour is open to any junior golfer, age 18 and younger. Age groups for boys and girls are 15-18, 13-14, 11-12, and 10 and younger.

First Day Hikes
Mother Neff State Park is hosting First Day Hikes starting at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 1. Bring a water bottle and arrive 30 to 45 minutes early to give plenty of time to check in at park headquarters. There will be four ranger-led hikes.
First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative led by America’s State Parks to encourage family and friends to get outdoors to start the New Year healthy and outside.

Keep Waco Beautiful, in partnership with Waco Parks and Recreation, is having its annual Chipping of the Green Christmas tree recycling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 6 at the parking lot of Paul Tyson field. Anyone, regardless of city of residence, is invited to recycle their tree.
Youth Mutton Bustin
The Heart of Texas Cowboy Church will host a New Year’s Eve Mutton Bustin on Sunday at its arena, 5101 Kendall Lane.

New Year’s dance
The American Legion will host a New Year’s Eve dance starting at 8 p.m. Sunday at 202 S. Jefferson St. in McGregor.
