MCC presents ‘Dueling Grands’

Pianists Donnie Balmos and Gail Wade will present a free encore performance of their “Dueling Grands” concert at 3 p.m. today at McLennan Community College’s Ball Performing Arts Center.

Balmos and Wade will perform piano duets by Wolfgang Mozart, Johannes Brahms and Francis Poulenc on MCC’s two Steinway concert grand pianos.

Family Issues Summit

Texas AgriLife Extension Service is sponsoring a Central Texas Family Issues Summit from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the McLennan Community College Emergency Services Education Center, 7601 Steinbeck Bend Road.

Registration costs $25 through Tuesday, which includes lunch, or $30 for on-site registration.

Youth movie night

The Community Race Relations Coalition is sponsoring a youth movie night at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 125 Turner St.

The free event, geared for junior high and high school students, will feature a viewing and discussion of the movie “Freedom Writers.”

Evensong service

The University of Texas Chamber Singers and organist Gerre Hancock will perform an evensong service of sacred works at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 515 Columbus Ave.
