Enjoy Father’s Day at the zoo

 

Cameron Park Zoo, 1701 N. Fourth St., will celebrate Father’s Day by offering free admission Sunday to every father and grandfather who is accompanied by their child or grandchild.

Zoo hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Juneteenth family day

A free Juneteenth Family Fun Day will be held from 1 to 11 p.m. today at Heritage Square Park.

Musical performances will begin at 3 p.m. Performers will include The Zapp Band, Keith “Wonder Boy” Johnson, Dorrough, Cupid and B Hamp.

The event also will include a health zone, a children’s zone, three-on-three hoops, games, food and more.

Parade and picnic

The Hollywood Addition neighborhood is sponsoring a Juneteenth parade and picnic today.

The parade will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Herring Avenue and Dan Rowe Street and will end in the field behind Second Baptist Church, 2001 Dallas St.

Willie E. Clarke, pastor of Pleasant Olive Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker at the picnic.

Food and drinks will be provided, with donations accepted.

Food drive at Walmart

Just As I Am Ministries will conduct a food drive from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at the Walmart Supercenter, 1521 Interstate 35 East, in Bellmead.

Canned goods and cash donations will be accepted.
