One tax lien for state Rep. Anderson lifted

By Michael W. Shapiro Tribune-Herald staff writer

The Internal Revenue Service released a $58,000 tax lien that had been placed on the home of state Rep. Charles “Doc” Anderson in late December after the legislator and his wife failed to pay income taxes.

The lien — originally put into the public record at the McLennan County Clerk’s Office on Dec. 21 — was lifted Tuesday.

An $11,500 lien placed on Anderson’s veterinary practice on Jan. 25 for failure to pay payroll taxes has not yet been released.

To respectful: Doctor Anderson is spelled Anderson, not Andersen. And I have no idea if Doc is the best vet in Central Texas. There are many fine veternarians in Central Texas that are probably equal in talent to Doc Anderson. As far as a State Legislator rating goes I think he, Doc Anderson, was not rated very high and he has had time to show his merits as a representative. Hopefully Doc is a better state representative than he is at paying, or not paying, taxes. If not then we all will suffer as his electorate. And possibly all of Texas. I am rather certain that if Doc were to be a democrat that his approval rating here would be much lower. In Texas to be qualified for elected office and to have a troup of admirers forgiving an official for their alleged wrongs you have to act the part. That means you have to have a photograph taken of yourself with a gray suit for haberdashery, short cut hair, US flag lapel button, and a very prominent US flag as a backdrop to your serious statements about taking full resposibility, again and again. And again. Look solemn. Talk into the camera. Apologize ad infinitum. That will do the trick.

1. Doc Andersen is the best vet by far in Central Texas. Bar none. 2.Doc Andersen is the most respected representative in Austin. Bar None. 3. Waco with it's great support of poor Doc Andersen is the most respected city in Texas. 4.Doc Andersen is destined to be the Governor of Texas due to his merits. 5.Doc Andersen will someday be a United States Senator due to his merits. 6.You read it here first. Signed. Faux Soothesayer

Sodbuster, how is that different from Rep. Anderson's situation? He is also paying it back after being "caught." I was simply responding to Elmo's false statement, not making a judgment about either man.

Wow!!!!I have the solution to Doc's little situation. Waco bosses can cancel the contract with the StickMan for the burn pile at Cameron Park. They can get Doc to pile his farm sticks there in the park in some kind of shape like a dog or cat or rat. The Waco Bosses can then pay the Doc $12500.00 for the art work. We all win. Doc is off the hook, again. The city gets some extra money through discount art. A local artist, Doc A, would get the bread. What an idea!! In a couple of years when the tax thing pops up, again, then Doc can do some more art work for the city since the rubble/art is only supposed to last two years. That shows the short life span we all face. And in the meantime Doc A can go back to Austin and write rules for all of us to follow. Waco can brag about curing a tax situation, again, and also helping a local beginner artist/doctor. What a deal. What a deal. What a deal!!

Forgiving someone and continuing to allow them to serve in public office are two totally different ideas. I've already forgiven Doc, but I'll never forget. What did President Bush say a couple of years ago? "Fool me once..."

And what is Obama staff doing? Hiding it or what.? Doc is paying it off. We do not need another liberal Demo from the same law office representing us. Right Jim Dunnam?

This has been going on for at least the past six years. Does anyone remember the 2004 campaign? Rep. Anderson had the same problems back then. The people trying to placate Doc and taxes sound like someone covering for an alcoholic, "he's trying his best!"

Why does Waco keep this tax cheat around? Clearly if he can't keep his own finances in order he has no business controlling our tax dollars.
