Former MCC assistant softball coach indicted for alleged inappropriate relations with a minor
By Erin Quinn Tribune-Herald staff writer
A former McLennan Community College assistant softball coach was indicted this week in Waco’s federal court on a charge of coercion and enticement, stemming from allegations that she lured a 15-year-old girl she coached at an out-of-state camp to Texas to have sex with her.
Leslie Klemansky, 24, appeared Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Jeffrey C. Manske, who formally issued the charge that carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.
Manske granted Klemansky’s release from federal detention in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Leslie Klemansky, 24, appeared Thursday before a U.S. magistrate, who formally issued the charge of coercion and enticement, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a maximum 250,000 dollar fine.
Charges of sexual performance by a child and two counts of sexual assault of a child also are pending with the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office.
Since her arrest last December, Klemansky has been free on $60,000 bond in connection with the state charges.
MCC President Johnette McKown said Klemansky resigned from her coaching position shortly after her arrest and is no longer employed by the college.
According to a search warrant affidavit filed in McLennan County court, Klemansky met the alleged victim last June during a hitting camp at the University of Oklahoma and gave the girl her business card.
The girl texted Klemansky, who then told the girl she was a lesbian and was interested in her, the affidavit states.
At Klemansky’s request, the girl sent her a nude photo of herself, the affidavit states.
The girl, who lives out of state, told police that Klemansky told her she loved her and wanted to take her to Hawaii and marry her, and the two engaged in phone sex, the affidavit states.
The document states Klemansky told the victim about a hitting camp in New Braunfels and said she would pay her way.
Klemansky picked up the girl at the airport in San Antonio and brought her to her house in Waco, where they had sex three times, the affidavit states.
