The arrest warrant affidavit for Robinson karate instructor Danny Passmore describes alleged ongoing sexual abuse by Passmore of one of his students.

That affidavit vividly describes claims made by “a minor child” that Passmore inappropriately touched the male student on numerous occasions at Passmore’s house.

Passmore was arrested Friday and still was being held in the McLennan County Jail on Tuesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. His bond is set at $250,000.

The arrest came after the boy told a counselor with the Klaras Center for Families that Passmore was sexually assaulting him, the affidavit says.

The child’s claims were bolstered when investigators learned from a doctor with the Advocacy Center that she found injuries consistent with the type of sexual assault described by the boy, according to the affidavit.

Robinson police have been limited with details about Passmore’s case, releasing only a three-sentence statement.

Lt. Tracy O’Connor of the Robinson Police Department said Tuesday that he could not release the boy’s age because of his juvenile status and would not reveal further details “due to the sensitivity of the investigation and its ongoing developments.”

O'Connor also would not say if there were more victims than the one listed in the affidavit.

As of Tuesday night, Passmore was charged with the sole count, according to a jail spokeswoman.

Passmore gained national notoriety when he appeared as an unwitting guest of Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Borat” character in a scene filmed at a martial arts gym in San Antonio.

He retired at the beginning of the month, citing physical decline as the reason.

Jacob Vande Veegaete, now 21, took over as master instructor of Passmore’s karate school after studying under Passmore since age 5.

“Unfortunately, I’ve been instructed not to comment at all at this time,” Vande Veegaete said.

He said he might be willing to comment as the case progresses.

Passmore’s wife, Karen, did not answer the door of Passmore’s Robinson home, and the listed telephone number was disconnected Tuesday.

Billy Santry, a neighbor who has lived a block from the Passmores’ house for about five years, said he didn’t know Danny Passmore but knew his older brother when they were young.

Santry said he read about the sexual abuse charge in the newspaper. Santry was alarmed by the news but said he is waiting to pass judgment.

“We were talking about it at work, and we both said, ‘What?’ ” Santry said of his reaction to Passmore’s charge. “You can’t be a child predator and run a business like that and not get caught.

“But then, in the back of my mind, it’s an accusation, and I’m not going to jump to any conclusions. There are people out there who have been accused of rape who didn’t do it, so I guess we’ll see what comes out.”

According to Passmore’s page on Myspace.com, he co-wrote a book titled “Positive Defensive Behavior: Emotional Self-Defense Behavior for Youth.”

The book is focused on teens and children, and his Myspace page states the book teaches teens “How to spot sexual con games” and teaches kids “How to ask for help.”
