‘Overcoming Division’ lecture
The Community Race Relations Coalition is sponsoring “Overcoming Division Among Four Cultures: An Evening With David H. Albert” at 7 p.m. July 23 at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4209 N. 27th St.
Albert, a world traveler, community activist and writer, will share stories of his service among the “Untouchables” of Southern India, the Hutus and Tutsis in Burundi and Iraqi refugees in Jordan.
The event is free, but reservations are required.

Diabetes cooking class
The Texas AgriLife Extension Service in McLennan County and the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District are sponsoring a Cooking Well With Diabetes class from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday and July 22 at First Baptist Church of Woodway, 101 Ritchie Road.
The class is geared toward diabetics and their family members. Others interested in diabetes prevention can attend if spots are available.
The class is free, but participants must register.

Alzheimer’s support
Wesley Woods Alzheimer’s Care Center, 1700 Woodgate Drive, will have an Alzheimer’s and dementia family support group meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will include a potluck dinner.

Computer 101 class
The Dewey Community Center, 925 N. Ninth St., is offering a Computer 101 class from 6-7 p.m. Thursday.
The class, open to those ages 7 and older, will focus on projects such as creating calendars, fliers, greeting cards and presentations.
Cost is $5 to cover supplies.

Federal workers lunch
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet Thursday at Uncle Dan’s Barbeque, 1001 Lake Air Drive.
Lunch will begin at 1 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 2 p.m.
Frank Reichardt, a massage therapist at Getterman Wellness Center, will discuss the health value of massages.
