Tired Stereotypes

"It's amazing how a critic can throw around words like "tired". What might be tired to you might not be tired to me. I find cultural stereotypes, if used well, to be quite entertaining. If they had put Billy Connoly as a Swedish Squirrel, rather than the scottish stereotype, I don't think it would have worked as well, do you? There are some formulaic things that work, as long as the show doesn't rely completely on them, and I don't think Open Season does that. I thought it was fresh in many areas. B+"

"I loved the movie. I took my brother to see it and he really enjoyed it too. We both laughed throughout the entire movie. I think the jokes were well written, funny and appropriate for all ages."

"The movie did not have that much humor. I My 4 year old was bore. The only time I remember him laughing was when the rabbits were being thrown at the garage door by the deer. He actually fell asleep, this is the first time ever at a movie theatre. It was nothing compare to "Over The Hedge". Hopefully "Happy Feet" will be better."

Ho Hum...Tis the season...

"My six year old grandson wanted to see this flick from all the media hype. So we went, since Grandma backed out. Eleven bucks and no popcorn later, the movie held the attention of about half of the kiddies in a large attendance. Laughter by the childred was limited. We adults guffawed quite a bit. Attention seemed to be focused, at least by my grandson and most near us, on the conflict of animals vs. hunters as the plot tried to thicken. Maybe the limited success of the movie was the length of scenes like the closure. After the great battle, kids were flopping seats and getting ready to leave even before the lights came on. In climbing into my truck and heading for pizza, my grandson made this comment: "Did you get your money back?" And my answer was...TAKE A GUESS! "

"Tremendous! My wife and kids loved it. Personally, I found it well written and very entertaining. Looking at this movie, there is nothing the producers could have done to make it better. I reccommend this movie for all ages, especially families!"
