Showmanship is Moore's top commodity

Christy Lemire

The Associated Press

"As dense and daunting as 'Capitalism' can often seem, it may also be Moore's most hopeful film yet, and it couldn't be more relevant or resonant."

"Some pretty good rants, but overall most viewers will find the film to be a continuous insult to their intelligence. It gets real old after 15 minutes, after which he has nothing new to offer. But then the damn thing stretches on for two mind-numbing hours after that. I enjoyed my two hours at the dentist more than I did this movie. It is really a stretch to call this a documentary. Let me save you a few bucks. It is just one long irrational rant against capitalism. You've heard it all before. Then he asks you to join in his cause to end capitalism. The End."

"The critic's are dead-on on this one...It is a B movie. What a waste of my time. Couldn't take it through the whole movie. Why doesn't Moore move to Russia or Cuba where his lies are appreciated. (Every country has problems, mismanagement, and crooks. He thinks he is a whistle blower but he's a millionaire hypocrit!)"

"Articles put his net worth around $50 Million Dollars. Also, owning stock in companies he has criticized. Sound familiar? Al Gore, Ralph Nader, and other politicians and celebrities. "

A fine thought-provoking film

"I think this is Moore's best film to date. He compares our economy from the 50s and 60s to this decade. He shows common people telling their stories regards foreclosure and contrasts the gains for the rich and the disappearnce of the American middle class over the past 50 years. The movie is absorbing and well done. I especially liked the ending where he cites FDR's 2nd Bill of Rights, which I suspect so many of us were not even aware of. I can pnly hope hope conservative republicans can view this film objectively and not just brow-beat it with petty criticism and paranoic fears of socialism. This movie should be seen by every American."
