Good Movie

"I liked this movie though I'm not sure why it was released as a 3-D movie...the 3-D was not very good. I should warn parents with small children-there is a scene where the downstairs neighbors are almost naked while they perform a show for Coraline. I didn't expect that in this movie. My 6 year old was with me and she sure had a lot questions during that scene. Overall, good movie for grownups and older kids."

Coraline

"This is the third 3D animation I've seen (Meet the Robinsons, and Bolt were the other two), and I keep waiting to be amazed. The 3D is very subtle in all these movies. There's an opening scene where a needle comes out towards your eye, and then after that not much else. I kept waiting the whole movie to see more things jump out of the screen. I do agree that it should not be for smaller children. The subject matter is really bizarre and small children may be frightened. I found it enteraining, but kind of left the theatre thinking what in the heck did I just watch."

Coraline is an art film

"I will say this first so MAYBE some parents will listen. This is NOT a movie for small children!!! It is a very artsy movie with some disturbing themes and images for the small ones. I personally would not take a child under 9 or 10. Also some taudry content with the two ladies downstairs. Not many laughs in this movie and little music. What you do get is an incredible visual world from the creators. Amazing stop-motion and nice 3D visuals (not the jumping out at you kind - just the overall perspective kind). Worth seeing in the theater for those that appreciate this type of film."
