A hand-held assault

"An alien attack on New York, captured on frenzied videocam, grows annoying quickly."

The camera isn't the only shaky thing

John DeFore

Austin American Statesman

"Just another monster movie, one that would play a lot better if it didn't ask us to take it so seriously. "

"This film was very witty, cleverly written and almost delivered masterfully. Screenwriter, Drew Goddard shows his talent with this awesome script. The action and thrills from the alien creatures was fierce and totally captivating. I was squeezing my arm rest on my chair until my hands hurt. Fat Cat Randy says, “Dude, hand held cameras show intense footage, but using it through out the entire movie took away from your awesome action sci-fi flick!” This film grossed $80 million domestically and $166 million worldwide on a $25 million budget. The film made money but where was the music? With such creativity and talent, why no music? This film would have grossed between $100-125 million domestically if it had, (MoJo) baby. This film needed Music, Music, still camera footage and Music Baby. I rated this movie an 8/10 and would have been higher if there was Mojo. Fat Cat Randy says, “Must see it Baby”"

"While this movie is not the greatest monster flick of all time, it does provide something different. Critics and "viewer critics" are way too harsh on a movie that is entertaining, witty, and different from all the other crappy monster movies that have come out over the last few years."

Better Than I Thought It Would Be

Lord Malikai

"This is a case of where word of mouth nearly killed this movie before I even took the time to see it. Everyone who claimed to "see it" had nothing but horrible things to say about it. One day when I had nothing else to do I went to see it and I have to say that I liked it. Understand you WILL NOT see the monster until near the end, but then that was the idea of the movie about survivors trying to save their friend while the monster is ravaging New York City. It has a mixture of Blair Witch Project with a touch of Godzilla. The only real downside is that there were times that the movie was TOO loud, so if you're planning to see this movie and you have sensitive hearing remember this before seeing the movie. www.myspace.com/lordmalikai"

"Movie started out boring and never improved even when the monsters got involved. No coherent plot, it was so bad I had to create a review account and protect the world."
