Gone, Baby, Gone

"An excellent portrayal of life in Boston. Ben did a great job as director. I do not think Casey was the prime choice in terms of leading man here....however it was a great movie and it was carrried off ok by the chosen cast. I would reccomend it although I would rather see someone else as leading man in terms of effectciveness in that role."

"The script is so good that I almost wish some better director maybe could get more out of it and some better actor could perhaps say, not mumble his lines like Casey. But both Affleck boys are good enough in their respective roles to make this movie into one of the most talked about this fall. A sure Oscar nom for writing."

"Affleck boys do good. This movie carrys with it the haunting visuals and darkness of Mystic River - same city, same feeling of creepy evil. I presume Ben the Director does a good job of capturing the down and out feel of the not-so-successful side of Boston, Mass. Little brother does a bang up job of acting and we are left in the dark for most of the film as we try to figure out where the real evil lies. Engrossing from start to finish, with a less than happy ending."

"Gone Baby Gone is perhaps a grittier, less formulaic movie version of an episode of "Without A Trace." But it works on every level. Not surprisingly, the performances are rock-steady throughout, but a compelling, original and sometimes gut-wrenching script, and a solid directing debut for Mr. Affleck were the unexpected treasures that make this film worth seeing. "Not exactly the feel good movie of the year, but well acted and thought provoking. Very good movie."
