Too Hokey to Ignore

2 Stars

Kia L'Dar

"Interesting characters, great scenery and solid performances can't quite save this film from its far-fetched script and implausible ending. It's not an awful film, just too contrived and corny to ignore in spots. And perhaps the movie will be easier to swallow, playing on your home theater system than it was on the big screen. "

"I don't like Westerns, but this one blew me away! I haven't seen Russell Crowe much lately, but he's fantastic, as is Christian Bale and everyone else."

"Great acting by whole cast....nice to have a great western on the screen once again. Good versus evil in full force from start to finish. "

"Great acting, directing and story. I hope Christian Bale gets an Oscar nomination for this one! I don't care for Russell Crowe as a person, but even I have to admit he's fantastic in this movie. His character is three-dimensional, and his behavior in the end can easily be explained if you take this - and several of his comments (hints) - into consideration. "
