"I don't know if that was the intended irony, but Travolta from Saturday Night Fever (his signature movie) to Travolta from Hairspray is like the ideas of racial harmony from the 1960's to what they are today. Hairspray has all the attributes of a great musical, a cherry to top off this cake would be an on-screen kiss between Walken and Travolta as husband and wife, maybe they'll include it on DVD."

"This movie is excellent. It goes over so many social issues and gives people who are different a voice and maybe some motivation. I saw the broadway performance at the Shuster in Feburary of 2006, and I've already seen the movie twice, (opening night and recently)and it really is a must see. Of course the songs are long but it is a MUSICAL so that's a given. I'll go see it again and but it when it comes out. It's a great movie and it's a feel good story. "

"The music and acting were quite good, but I took my daughter and her friends (age 11-13) and there were A LOT of inappropriate parts. It probably should be rated PG-13 with several adult situations, some cussing and numerous sexual references. "
