The curtain rises Friday and Tuesday for two Christmas productions by Waco youth theater groups.

The Waco Civic Theatre’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” presented at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Waco Civic Theatre, has a tough bunch of Herdman kids presenting a theatrical challenge for better-behaved church kids.

The Waco Children’s Theatre stages the local debut of the children’s stage adaptation of “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” which features “Peanuts” character Charlie Brown (Tyler Sims), his friends and dog Snoopy. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” runs Friday through Sunday and Dec. 16-18 at the Lee Lockwood Library and Museum, 2801 W. Waco Drive.
