Baylor art faculty exhibit

Baylor art professors and instructors provide the paintings, drawings, ceramics and more on display through Feb. 25 for the 2018 Baylor Art Faculty Exhibition at the Martin Museum of Art in Baylor’s Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays, 1-4 p.m. Sundays.

A spelling competition tests a girl’s mettle in the Jubilee Theatre production of “Akeelah and the Bee,” performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 1319 N. 15th St. $12, $10 students and senior adults, $7 children 11 and younger.

The Baylor Symphony Chamber Orchestra shares its January program with four high school winners of the Dallas Symphonic Festival Competition at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Concert Hall in Baylor’s McCrary Music Building. Free.
